Longtime users know that we are a little shy about pre-announcing new features. But when it comes to removing features, we would like to give you advance notice so you can plan accordingly.
In 2022, a version of SuperLab 6 will implement significant improvements on how event markers are generated and sent to EEGs. If you do any sort of physiological recording, we are certain that you will like these improvements, but they require a hardware feature called asynchronous output that is not present on older devices. In this future version, the only hardware that will support producing event markers are:
…and any future Cedrus hardware. Events of type “Digital Output” will no longer support Measurement Computing I/O devices, older RB response pads, SV-1 voice key, or the original StimTracker ST-100. We will continue to support the older response pads and SV-1 as input devices, but not for output.
SuperLab X6 continues to support SMI eye trackers four years after the company was acquired by Apple. We plan to continue supporting SMI products in version 6.x releases as long as their Software Development Kit (SDK) remains compatible.
Support for Sassafras KeyServer is discontinued in SuperLab 6. Please consider using SuperLab’s built-in “silent activation” feature; contact us for details.
Meanwhile, the KeyServer version of SuperLab 5 remains available for download.
