The PEBL (Psychology Experiment Building Language) project provides “basic support” for the RB-x30 and RB-x40 response pads when used in serial port emulation mode (Standard mode).

However, at least one user has reported difficulty using it in Standard mode, but reported success using an RB-740 in Keyboard mode emulation.
