Support   SV-1    Using an SV-1 Voice Key With Inquisit

Summary

Inquisit version 1.32 or later adds support for the RB-420 and RB-620 response pads. SV-1 can be used with Inquisit by setting its mode to “Cedrus RB Series”.

Enabling RB Series Emulation

This step requires the use of the Xidon program (pronounced Zydon). Please contact Cedrus for more information.

Troubleshooting

If Inquisit cannot detect a response from your SV-1 unit, here is a checklist of things to look for:

  • The most common reason is usually an incorrect COM port setting. Double-check which COM port your SV-1 unit is connected to. If you are not sure, try different COM port settings in Inquisit.
  • If you are sure that the port settings are correct, the second most common problem is when an internal modem is installed. Although it is internal, it might occupy the same port (e.g. COM2) that SV-1 is connected to. In this case, try connecting SV-1 to a different COM port or, if no other one is available, please contact the manufacturer of your computer for assistance in re-assigning the modem to another COM port.
