A couple of days ago, we released a new version 3.1 of Data Viewer. This update includes:
Under the surface, there is another significant change in the Mac version:
Data Viewer 3.1 for Mac is now a “universal” build, meaning that it can run natively on either Intel-based Macs or the new Apple Silicon “M1”-based Macs. It is the first Cedrus software to do so.
SuperLab is a much larger project and codebase than Data Viewer. Like all modern software, it also uses several third party libraries.
One of these libraries handles the interaction with USB. It is the all-important component that allows SuperLab 6 to send event markers with only a 2ms delay, and to do so jitter free. The producer of this library does not yet have a version that runs natively on M1-based Macs. As soon as it becomes available, we will roll up our sleeves and start working on an M1 native build of SuperLab and Xidon.
