Using c-pod with SuperLab 6

‍How It Works

‍You can send event markers by creating an event of type “Digital Output” and selecting your particular c-pod model as the output device:

‍The Connection

‍In order to send event markers from a computer running SuperLab 6 to c-pod:

You need to install the USB driver.
Use a provided USB cable to connect the computer to c-pod’s connector.

‍Sending Your First Event Marker

‍As a first step, it is important to verify that SuperLab is able to communicate with your EEG software, e.g. Acknowledge or LabChart. To do so, in the Event Editor’s Stimulus tab:

Set “Pulse duration” to 500 milliseconds
Set “Inter-pulse interval” to 200 milliseconds
Set “Repeat pulse” to 10 times
Turn on all the checkboxes labeled L0 through L7 in SuperLab 6

‍Making the changes above allows you to send a train of 10 longer pulses, and on all lines, making it easier to troubleshoot.

‍Now click on the Test Now button. The blue triangle ▲ light on c–pod should light up. If it does, then this confirms that the USB driver is installed correctly and that SuperLab is able to communicate with c-pod. Your EEG software should also be able to “see” event markers coming from c-pod.
