‍Does StimTracker work with Python?

‍Yes. Cedrus offers an open source Python library. The resulting package, pyxid2, is included with the standard PsychoPy distribution and is published on PyPI.

‍What software supports StimTracker?

‍StimTracker is supported by our own SuperLab software, E-Prime, SR Research’s Experiment Builder, Inquisit, Presentation, and PsychoPy, in addition to C++, Python, and Matlab support.

‍Can StimTracker send event marker data via USB?

‍Yes. This feature sends time-stamped data to the computer. By default, it is disabled to avoid flooding the computer with data. It can be enabled using Xidon or our C++ library; we can add support for it in our Python library upon request. You can control how the built-in timer is reset: on onset of a visual or auditory stimulus, or via a USB command.

‍Is an m-pod required?

‍For the Duo model, you need an m-pod if you want TTL output. Otherwise, the only output is time-stamped event markers via USB.

‍For the Quad model, you can make a custom cable using the direct TTL output connector; see this support page for more information.

‍If you already have an m-pod, you can save by purchasing the base model of StimTracker Duo or StimTracker Quad.

‍You do not offer an m-pod that is compatible with my recorder. Which model should I choose?

‍If you want to buy StimTracker with an m-pod to make your own custom solution, we recommend “m-pod for Parallel Port”. It offers 13 bits of output vs. 8 for most other models, and it is compatible with a range of third party accessories.

‍Is the AC adapter available with international plugs?

‍Yes. When ordering StimTracker, you can choose one of four AC cord plugs for U.S., Europe, U.K, or Australia / New Zealand (also used in parts of Asia).

‍All these AC cords have a ground lead. This is important to help with noise immunity. We strongly caution against using “cheater plugs”; see this blog post.

‍If I place an order, when can I receive it?

‍Both StimTracker models and all m-pods are stocking items. We ship within 1 to 2 business days. In the U.S. we ship via UPS Ground from California. Delivery time depends on your location. Outside the U.S., we ship via DHL or UPS.

‍What are the package weight and dimensions?

‍The following weight and dimensions are for the boxed package and include the AC adapter and the accessories that it ships with, e.g. USB cable.

‍Dimensions:  10.5 x 8.25 x 2.75 inches  /  26.9 x 21.1 x 7 cm
Dimensions  with an m-pod:   10.5 x 8.25 x 4.5 inches  /  26.9 x 21.1 x 11.5 cm
StimTracker Weight:  2.6 lbs  /  1.18 kgs for Quad model,  2.4 lbs  /  1.09 kgs for Duo
m-pod Weight:  0.8 lbs  /  0.36 kgs

‍These boxes goes into a larger shipping box, so weight and dimensions will be slightly larger.
